Sometimes just about when you have that craving for meat and long for a solid dose of animal protein, your mom calls and tells you its prathosham and no non veg today. :mad::cautious: Thats when you think of this amazing meat substitute. Here is a go to recipe for Chilli Soya, just close your eyes and its as close as you can get to eating chicken on a no no non veg day.


Serves : 2 - 3
Prep Time : 20 min
Cook Time : 20 minutes

Ingredients:
1 cup Soya/Meal maker (60 g)
1/4 tsp Turmeric
1/2 tsp Cumin powder
1 tsp Garam masala
1 tbsp Kashmiri chili powder or 2 tsp regular chili powder
1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
2 tbsp Rice flour
2 tbsp Besan flour
1/2 Lemon
required Salt
1 tbsp Water if required
10 Green chilies
1 spring Curry leaves
Cooking Method

Step 1) Boil water in a pan and add some salt . Add soya chunks, turn off the heat and let it sit for 10 -15 min. Rinse with cold water and squeeze any extra water.

Step 2) Into a mixing bowl add the softened soya , chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, ginger garlic paste , garam masala, rice flour, besan flour, required salt , juice of half lemon and mix well. If required sprinkle some water to coat all the masalas evenly. let it sit for 10 min.

Step 3) Heat oil in a pan and fry until crispy. Turn off the heat and fry some green chilies and curry leaves. Add it to the fried soya.

Add fresh coriander and serve in style.
